15/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – In preparation for the G20 Agriculture Ministers' meeting in Niigata, Japan, from 10 to 12 May, the EU Council adopted on Monday 15 April, updated EU guidelines on several themes: innovation for sustainability, agrifood value chains and international collaboration to address global challenges. The primary objective of the meeting is to maintain the G20's commitment to the sustainable future of the global food system and the agricultural sector (including the fight against antimicrobial resistance). The EU guidelines will serve as a basis for the EU's participation in the negotiations on the final text of the statement submitted by the Japanese G20 Presidency. (LC)
