10/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 10 April, the European Commission decided to renew its confidence in the Chair of the European Fiscal Board, Niels Thygesen, and the four other members of this body, namely: Roel Beetsma, Massimo Bordignon, Sandrine Duchêne and Mateusz Szczurek. Its members will thus carry out their duties for a new three-year term starting on 19 October. The European Fiscal Board, operational since 2016 following a decision in October 2015 (see EUROPE 11649/13), is an independent body responsible for advising the Commission on the budgetary path of the euro area and the EU's fiscal governance (see EUROPE 12114/20, 12043/15).
