01/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Sunday 31 March, the spokeswoman of the European External Action Service welcomed the first meeting held the day before in Vienna, between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, organised under the auspices of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, on the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. “The recommitment by the leaders to strengthening the ceasefire and to promoting an environment conducive to peace, as well as their stated readiness to take further steps toward result-oriented negotiations, is encouraging”, she said in a statement. According to the spokesperson, the EU looks forward to the implementation of agreements on the development of humanitarian and peace-preparedness measures and stands ready to support these efforts.
