Partial political agreement expected in Council on Horizon Europe specific programme

01/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – Member States' ambassadors to the EU are expected to adopt a partial general approach on the specific implementation programme of the Horizon Europe 2021-2027 Research and Innovation Framework Programme at the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives on Friday 8 March. As a reminder, the Council agreed, following the last Competitiveness Council and a tacit agreement with the European Parliament (see EUROPE 12200), to maintain a single legal basis, excluding the European Parliament from the co-decision process. However, the latter will be closely consulted. The final agenda for Coreper on Friday will be confirmed on Monday 4 March. (PH)
