European Parliament negotiators and the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council are expected to mark an inter-institutional agreement on Monday 4 February on the proposal for a directive to facilitate the use of digital tools for company registration (see EUROPE 12178).
A trilogue negotiating session on this legislative text, which should have taken place on Thursday 31 January, has finally been postponed until early next week. But this postponement does not seem to reduce the likelihood of a political agreement, according to a European source.
On Thursday, representatives of the European Parliament and the EU Council held a first trilogue on the 'mobility' part of the legislative package revising company law, following the political agreement in principle reached by the Member States (see EUROPE 12183).
During this trilogue, each party reiterated its position and set the timetable for the upcoming negotiations, with the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday 5 February. (Original version in French by Mathieu Bion)
