01/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – The President of EUROCHAMBRES, Christoph Leitl, and the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the European Parliament on Wednesday 30 January for the European elections. Through this partnership, EUROCHAMBRES undertakes to use its network of 800 chambers of commerce and industry to encourage European citizens to take part in the vote. More precisely, the objective is fourfold: - to make citizens aware of the importance of European elections; - to influence debates by highlighting the positive role of the Union for business and citizens; - to provide a platform for political candidates to discuss with the business community; - to allow networking between chambers of commerce and industry and future MEPs.
