23/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy approved on Wednesday 23 January in Brussels the texts resulting from the political agreements between EU institutions on four elements of the 'clean energy' package (see EUROPE 12175, 12163). These are the Electricity Market Directive and Regulation, the text on risk preparedness in the electricity sector and the Regulation on the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators of the European Union (ACER). The European Parliament's final vote on these texts will take place during the plenary session from 25 to 28 March in Strasbourg. The Council will still have to formally adopt these legislative acts.
