05/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – The President of the UEAPME, Ulrike Rabmer-Koller, had a meeting with the chairperson of the internal market and consumer protection committee (IMCO), Anneleen van Bossuylt (ECR, Belgium), to discuss opportunities for creating a Digital Knowledge Centre. The organisation is proposing that this centre would be set up on the basis of the European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre model (this organisation seeks to support the economic transition to a circular model). It would be made up of experts from the digital sector and organisations representing SMEs, in an effort to help the latter complete their digital transition. The MEP warmly welcomed the proposal but has not made any further commitment for the time being in this connection. (PH)
