05/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – The forthcoming General Affairs Council, to be held in Brussels on 18 September, will hold a debate on the forthcoming multiannual financial framework (MFF) of the EU 2021-2027, European sources announced on Wednesday 5 September (see EUROPE 12084). The European ministers will debate the proposals on the table on the basis of a 'stock-take' drawn up in a report by the Austrian Presidency of the Council. This report is expected to be published early next week and will be discussed on Wednesday 12 September at the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States to the EU (Coreper). The Austrian Presidency intends to work intensively over the coming months to identify the subjects of the future 'negotiating box', a document that aims to make it easier to reach a compromise on the MFF.
