05/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 5 September, Gerard Hogan from Ireland was appointed Advocate General to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) by the representatives of the member states of European Union. Mr Hogan will officially begin his job on 7 October for a period of six years. This appointment is part of a broader partial renewal framework for the composition of the CJEU, which takes place every three years. Since last February, 12 judges and four Advocates General have therefore been appointed for a mandate over the same period. Two judges (Austrian and British respectively) as well as an Advocate General (Estonia) still need to be appointed if this partial renewal is to be completed. (LT)
