19/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – The shadow rapporteurs at the European Parliament on copyright reform are gearing up for a meeting on Wednesday 21 March, for further discussions on the difficult question of the value gap (article 13). According to one source close to the dossier, rapporteur Axel Voss (EPP, Germany), may present a fourth version of his compromise amendment introducing two changes to the previous casting discussed in Strasbourg (see EUROPE 11974). He may also withdraw the conditions that allow for a definition of whether a platform is responsible or not or the fact that it has published a “significant" amount of copyright protected content (whilst keeping this term for technical measures). It is also a possibility that he will propose a list of activities that a platform should carry out if it wants to be excluded from the terms of the new directive. (SPj)
