19/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 March, the organisation representing the insurance sector, Insurance Europe, announced that it had developed data breach reporting templates to help companies meet the requirement imposed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to inform the appropriate supervisory authorities of personal data breaches. The model is divided into three sections that contain: personal details and information on the affected company, not to be shared with third parties; details on the data breach incident to be sent to the national supervisory authority no later than 72 hours after having become aware of the breach; - a section to be completed following the 72 hour period when more information is available on the data breach, which includes complementary data sets to gain more in-depth knowledge of the nature of the breach.
