19/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – In a policy paper dated 19 March, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) expressed its concerns about the Brexit negotiations between the EU and United Kingdom. The ACEA identifies three priorities that need to be tackled. First of all, it has called for greater clarity involving vehicle type approval certificates and mutual recognition when the United Kingdom leaves the EU. The ACEA also believes that the United Kingdom should be included in the calculations of average CO2 emissions, which every manufacturer is due to respect by 2021. If this is not the case, the ACEA is requesting that the Commission revises the objectives. The organisation would also like emphasis to be placed on customs and in this connection calls for more resources, regulatory convergence and customs facilitation. Link: http://bit.ly/2G4HUd9 (LT)
