The European Parliament would like more transparency from the member states regarding their national rules for certain professions and is calling on them to improve application of directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications. Parliament expressed this wish in an own-initiative report presented by Nicola Danti (S&D, Italy) and adopted by 490 votes, with 54 against and 38 abstentions on Thursday 18 January.
