Malaysia denounces European Parliament vote for ban on biofuels from palm oil

On Thursday 18 January, Malaysia spoke out against the European Parliament's support for a ban on the use of palm oil in biofuels in the EU transport sector.  The country criticised the move as a protectionist measure and as "crop apartheid", and it again threatened the EU with a WTO appeal and trade retaliation should the measure be confirmed.
