18/01/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 18 January, the conference of the presidents of the groups of the European Parliament decided to postpone its decision on stripping Polish MEP Ryszard Carnecki (ECR) of his title of vice-president of Parliament. Carnecki, a member of the ruling PiS party, is the subject of action being taken by four parties in Parliament (EPP, S&D, ALDE, Greens/EFA) for levelling Nazi insults at another Polish MEP, Róża Thun, a member of the EPP and of the opposition party in Poland. It was decided on Thursday that the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, would first meet the two individuals in question and would push the decision back until a forthcoming meeting of the conference of Presidents, a source reported.
