04/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 5 October, the Greens/EFA group will ask the European Parliament's Conference of Presidents to withdraw the accreditation badges of two lobbyists from Caterpillar Belgium, the group has announced in a press release. This initiative, taken by Germany's Sven Giegold, comes after a decision made by the Conference of the Presidents on Thursday 28 September concerning Monsanto lobbyists (see EUROPE 11872). The German MEP has written to the President of the European Parliament and its Secretary General to explain that Caterpillar Belgium SA was invited to a hearing of the committee of investigation into money laundering, tax avoidance and tax evasion (PANA), but refused to take part. The MEP is therefore calling for Caterpillar Belgium SA's accreditation badges to enter the Parliament buildings to be withdrawn. (SP)
