14/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 June, the European Commission announced €112.5 million-worth of aid from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support construction of a 167 km-long natural gas (LNG) pipeline between the cities of Lwówek and Odolanów, in the Polish region of Wielkopolska, interconnections in Krobia, Kotowo, Lwówek and Odolanów, and of supporting infrastructure. The Lwówek-Odolanów pipeline will connect the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, North-West Poland, to the existing gas transmission, storage and distribution infrastructure. It was designated a project of common interest (PCI) and has the potential to export gas to Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. (EH)
