14/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 13 June, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini called on the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) to complete disarmament. "The FARC are expected to promptly complete the laying down of arms", the European External Action Service (EEAS) stated in a press release published after a meeting in Oslo between Mogherini and FARC representatives. Thus far 60% of the FARC's arms have reportedly been handed over to the United Nations, as part of the peace agreement signed in November. "With courage, vision and political will, the parties have agreed to fully implement the provision of the agreement and they are expected now to deliver", the EEAS added. Mogherini reiterated the EU's political and financial commitment and its support for implementing the peace agreement. (CG)
