12/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – Compromise amendments from the internal market and consumer protection committee at the European Parliament (IMCO) on the most controversial aspects of the European copyright framework are expected to start circulating before next week, announced British MEP Catherine Stihler (S&D) on Thursday 11 May. Thus far, Stihler has received 500 amendments and drawn up 23 compromise amendments on the least controversial articles. The second law (on the neighbouring right for publishers and the value gap) will be sent to MEPs next week for discussion by shadow rapporteurs on 30 May and a vote on 8 June. The JURI committee responsible for this matter will vote on 13 July. In all, 933 amendments have been lodged for the draft report by Therese Comodini Cachia (EPP, Malta). (SPj)
