12/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – The Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (PA-UfM), which brings together the European Parliament and EU national parliaments and those of the countries bordering the Mediterranean which are all members of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), is holding its annual plenary session in Rome this Friday 12 and Saturday 13 May. The formal session (on Saturday) will be preceded by a meeting of the presidents of the parliaments, including European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, and meetings of the thematic committees. High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will also attend. This year's session is on "sustainable development and new opportunities for work" – two "crucial issues for the region's sustainable development and stabilisation", according to official sources. Discussions are expected to focus on "the creation of quality jobs, and sustainable socio-economic development". (FB)
