ACEA had already informed Commission in 2012 about risks of fraudulent heavy-duty vehicle emissions

In a press release published by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) on Thursday 23 February, ACEA explained that it had been informing the European Commission and member states since 2012 about the risks of using after-market devices (hardware or software) to falsify nitric oxide emissions (NOx) by heavy-duty vehicles, “but no action was taken”.
