IAEA concludes positive safety assessment of units 1 and 2 at Doel plant in Belgium

An International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) team of nuclear safety experts completed a positive assessment of long-term operational safety at the Doel Nuclear Power Plant’s (NPP) Unit 1 and 2 in Belgium on Thursday 24 February. The team emphasised that the plant had made “significant progress” in the management of ageing plant installations and in the preparation for safe long-term operations (LTO).
