07/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - Youth debate on preventing radicalism. On Thursday 7 April, the European Commission took part in a debate on the theme of "Preventing Radicalism in Europe", organised in Amsterdam under the auspices of the Dutch Presidency of the Council of EU and to which around 200 young people were invited. The European Commissioner for Education, Culture and Sport, Tibor Navracsics, spoke on behalf of the Commission and asserted "We have to appeal to all young people, including those in danger of social exclusion an violent radicalism, that if we want to win the fight against young people being radicalised, the direct support of young people is crucial". The debate will continue on Twitter (#AskNavracsics). A "chat" is planned for Thursday 14 April (13.30h CET) and will focus on voluntary work and taking part in local activities. (FB)
