Brussels, 07/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - The three EU institutions reached an agreement late in the afternoon of Wednesday 6 April on a compromise text updating the rules of the multiannual recovery plan for Bluefin tuna stocks in the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean.
The regulation negotiated, which remains close to the Commission's initial proposal, seeks to build all the recovery plan measures adopted by the relevant regional fisheries organisation between 2012 and 2014 into one regulation (see EUROPE 11471). The agreement has still to be validated by the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Council (Coreper) and the European Parliament, the Dutch Presidency of the Council says in a press release. The Bluefin tuna recovery plan applies from 2007 until 2022. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
