10/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 10 September, the European Commission approved an aid scheme which compensates companies for the damage caused by the floods in the German Federal State of Saxony in August 2010. The Commission found that the measure was in line with the Treaty, which allows aid to make good damage caused by natural disasters. The decision, however, does not cover aid to companies active in agricultural production or in part of the forestry sector. (L.C./transl.rt)
