10/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - On 3 September, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the impact assessment for possible revision of Council Regulation (EEC) 95/93 on common rules for the allocation of slots at Community airports. The consultation will be open until 29 October. Possible changes to the regulation would be presented as part of the “airport package” for summer 2011, announced European Transport Commissioner Siim Kallas (see EUROPE 10153). According to the Commission, the package should also comprise assessment of progress regarding implementation of the action plan with respect to airport capacity in January 2007, and of the ground handling directive (see EUROPE 9350).
