Brussels, 29/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the acquisition by the automotive supplier Mahle GmbH of a 60% stake in Behr Industry GmbH & Co KG, a subsidiary of Behr GmbH & Co KG, all of Germany. Mahle is active worldwide in the automotive supply industry in the development, manufacturing and sale of components and systems for automotive and motor vehicles. Behr is active worldwide in the manufacturing and supply of original equipment for passenger and commercial vehicles, in particular the development and manufacturing of components and complete systems of motor cooling and air-conditioning for automotive vehicles.
Given the insignificance of these links, the parties' combined market shares and the presence of strong alternative suppliers, the Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not raise competition concerns. (A.B./transl.fl)
