The European Commission granted clearance on 1st July to the acquisition by Iberenova Promociones, belonging to the Spanish Iberdrola Group, and Caja Rural de Navarra of joint control of Renovables de la Ribera. Renovables de la Ribera is a joint venture of Iberdrola Group and Caja Rural de Navarra active in the wind farm promotion and development and the electricity generation and wholesale markets, mainly in Spain. The Iberdrola Group includes companies active in the electricity generation and wholesale market in Spain and in other countries of the European Economic Area. Caja Rural de Navarra is a Spanish financial entity active in the Navarre autonomous region. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (F.G./Com/transl.rt)
