01/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - Wilhelm Molterer is the new vice-president of the European Investment Bank. On Thursday 30 June, Wilhelm Molterer of Austria was appointed vice-president and member of the management committee of the European Investment Bank (EIB), to take effect on 1st July 2011. Molterer succeeds Eva Srejber, whose tenure as EIB vice-president has now come to an end. He was appointed by the EIB Board of Governors on a proposal from the finance minister of the Republic of Austria and with the agreement of the electoral group formed by Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Sweden. Before joining the EIB, Wilhelm Molterer was an Austrian member of parliament for many years, holding a variety of political positions. (O.L./transl.jl)
