01/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: OMW Wärme/Raiffeisen Ware Austria AG. On Thursday 30 June, the European Commission authorised the proposed acquisition of Austrian heating oil distributor OMV Wärme by Raiffeisen Ware Austria AG, a subsidiary of the Raiffeisen group of Austria, active in the purchase and sale of agricultural products, technical equipment, energy, building materials, gardening products and services. The investigation into this transaction, of which the Commission was notified on 23 May 2011, revealed some horizontal overlaps between the activities of the two companies in the distribution of motor fuels and of heating oils. However, the Commission found that the combined firm will continue to be constrained by strong, effective competition. (F.G./transl.rt)
