01/07/2011 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: Vitronet Holding/RWE Deutschland/Ventizz. On 1st July, the European Commission cleared the acquisition of joint control of Vitronet Holding by RWE Deutschland, both of Germany, and Aesop S.à.r.l of Luxembourg, belonging to the Ventizz Group of Jersey. Vitronet, a service provider for telecommunication and cable operators, develops markets and operates FTTX networks. RWE is active in the generation, energy trading, transport, sale and distribution of electricity and gas. Aesop is a special purpose vehicle used by the private equity fund Ventizz Capital Fund IV L.P. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (F.G./Com/transl.rt)
