Glance at legal and regulatory aspects of intergovernmental agreement on Nabucco gas pipeline

Brussels, 14/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - As we saw yesterday (EUROPE 9941), the EU has made a first decisive step towards putting the Nabucco gas pipeline project into practice. This will connect gas from Central Asia and the Middle East to the Community market via Turkey and bypass Russia. The agreement, after six months of bitter negotiations, is between Turkey and four Member States (Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria) of the European Union.
