Only 9% of Israeli Jews said to support EU mediation in Middle East but 76% of them want to join the EU

Brussels, 24/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - Most Jewish Israelis (56% of those polled) want the United States to intervene to solve the Middle East conflict, but only a small minority (9%) want the European Union to intervene as a mediator. This emerged from an opinion poll by two Israeli research bodies commissioned by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The results seem a little contradictory in light of another question.
