Parliament calls for rights of residents of Camp Ashraf to be respected

Strasbourg, 24/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - In its adoption by 284 votes in favour, 42 against and 75 abstentions, of a joint resolution presented by four political groups (EPP-ED, ALDE, UEN, GUE/NGL) on the humanitarian situation in Camp Ashraf, the European Parliament calls on the Iraqi prime minister immediately to guarantee that the authorities of his country will not take any initiatives which may violate the human rights of the residents of this camp, built in the 1980s in northern Iraq...
