24/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - New Zealand's ambassador to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), David Walker, was appointed on 22 April 2009 as the chair of the WTO's agriculture negotiating committee, taking over from fellow New Zealander Crawford Falconer, who is moving to Washington. David Walker is the third New Zealander to hold the post of chief WTO agriculture mediator, after Tim Groser (2003 to 2005) and Crawford Falconer (2005 to 2009). (E.H.)
