European Commission and OECD call on developed countries to resist temptation for protectionism

Brussels, 12/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - Ever since her first speech as Trade Commissioner on 28 October (see EUROPE 9772), Catherine Ashton has continued to warn member states about the temptation to employ protectionist policies and has called time after time for markets to be opened and for multilateral negotiations in the Doha Round to be concluded.
