Brussels, 28/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - In a decision made by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) on 24 April, concluding that the Maltese authorities should not adopt legislation permitting the hunting of birds during the spring period in 2008. To this end, the ECJ has found in favour of the Commission's objective of imposing interim spring hunting measures on Malta to ensure respect for the European directive (790/409/EC) on the conservation of wild birds.
