Members of EP broadly in favour of more targeted sanctions against Burma and highly critical of China

Brussels, 23/04/2008 (Agence Europe) - A constitutional referendum will be held in Burma on 10 May and, on 29 April, the General Affairs Council will review the sanctions imposed on the country by the EU: two good reasons for the Council and Commission to take stock of the situation in the country.
