Parliament approves amendment of regulation on nutrition and health claims

Strasbourg, 13/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 12 December, the European Parliament gave first reading approval (co-decision procedure) to the report by Adriana Poli Bortone (UEN, Italy) on the draft regulation to amend the Community regulation (1924/2006) on nutritional and health claims of foodstuffs, giving its unreserved support to the changes recommended by the European Commission.
