Brussels, 27/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - An EU spokesperson informed EUROPE on Wednesday evening that the EU and US negotiators had reached a preliminary agreement on the transfer of air passenger data (APD) in the fight against terrorism (EUROPE 9445). The agreement occurred during a telephone conversation between the German minister of the interior, Wolfgang Schäuble, the Commissioner for Security Franco Frattini and the US Secretary for Security Michael Chertoff. The agreement is expected to be approved Friday by the EU27 at a special reception of EU ambassadors. (bc)
