Orientation debate at Commission

Brussels, 27/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 27 June the College of Commissioners held a European maritime policy debate. Presentation of the first concrete proposals will take place next October. EU Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Commissioner Joe Borg presented a note on progress made in discussions that have been carried out for a year on the European maritime policy. He will then return to France, followed by the Netherlands to attend conferences on this theme.

On Wednesday evening Joe Borg will be in France where he will address the opening dinner of the fifth World Investment Conference (WIC) in La Baule. He also took part in a meeting organised by the Green Atlantic for Sustainable Development (GASD) consortium.

Joe Borg at La Baule and Rotterdam to discuss European Maritime Policy

EU Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Commissioner Joe Borg today travels to France where he will address the opening dinner of the fifth World Investment Conference (WIC) in La Baule. He will also take part in a meeting organised by the Green Atlantic for Sustainable Development (GASD) consortium, where he will attend the official handout of GASD's contribution to the ongoing consultation on a future European maritime policy. On Thursday, Mr Borg will be in the Netherlands, where he will address the Ports of the Future Leadership Summit organised jointly by General Electric the Port of Rotterdam. (lc)
