Brussels, 19/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - A nine-year amnesty for elephants. The 4th Conference of the Parties to the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) concluded in The Hague (Netherlands) on 18 June with a major success: African elephant range states have agreed to a nine-year suspension of the ivory trade and agreed to collectively address the long-term issues of elephant conservation.
