Transport committee gives go-ahead to compromise amendments on liberalisation of postal services - plenary vote foreseen for July

Brussels, 19/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - A large majority of the parliamentary committee on transport and tourism took a stance on Monday 18 June (41 votes to 6 and no abstentions) in favour of all the compromise amendments earlier approved by the political groups EPP-ED, PES and ALDE on completing the internal postal services market (see EUROPE 9447). Only MEPs from the Greens/EFA and GUE/NGL groups rejected the draft report by Markus Ferber (EPP-ED, Germany) as amended during the vote. The...
