Commission endorses Slovenia's national strategy and priorities

Brussels, 19/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 19 June, the European Commission and Slovenian authorities agreed on the country's National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) and cohesion policy priorities for 2007-2013. In their NSRF, the Slovenian authorities describe how they are going to invest EU funding of € 4,101 million that they will receive over seven years to deliver growth and jobs to their regions, strengthen human capital, and ensure a balanced and harmonious development including the reduction of regional disparities. The adoption procedure has now been completed as the European Commission issued its decision on elements of the Slovenian NSRF, including priorities, indicative annual allocations, and the list of operational programmes.

All member states have already sent their NSRFs to the Commission, with Malta (on 22 December 2006), Greece (on 31 March 2007) and Austria (on 5 April 2007) being the first countries to have their plans approved by the Commission. These were then followed by Denmark (on 17 April 2007), Lithuania (on 27 April 2007), Germany, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Cyprus (all on 10 May 2007), France (on 14 June 2007) and the Netherlands (on 15 June 2007).
