Brussels, 18/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - Reduced rates of value added tax (VAT) are back on the agenda. The media frenzy in France on the reflection of the new French government on the contribution of VAT to the funding of social protection, fed into by Mr Sarkozy's election promises to apply a reduced rate to the catering industry, has moved this subject up the European agenda.
