Andris Piebalgs opens first Latvian agency of Intelligent Energy programme

Brussels, 11/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - In Riga on Friday, Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs opened the first Latvian energy agency, which was supported by the Commission Intelligent Energy Europe programme. Through this programme, the Commission has been supporting the development of local energy agencies, which act as focal points for the implementation of EU energy policies since the start of the 1990s.
