Council supports single market organisation but quarrels over time allowed for integration of sectors being reformed

Brussels, 20/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - The agriculture ministers of EU member states supported the aim of the European Commission's proposal aimed at merging the operating rules for 21 different common market organisations (CMOs) into a single legislative act. They were nonetheless divided over the timetable for integration within this single CMO of fruit and vegetables and wine, for which reform is being negotiated.
