Marti Ahtisaari's proposal gets MEPs' support that underlines Kosovo and Serbia's European prospects

Brussels, 15/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday evening the foreign affairs committee adopted the report by Joost Lagendijk (Greens/EFA, Netherlands), which supports efforts made by Martti Ahtisaari for solving the problem of Kosovo's status. MEPs from the committee chaired by Jacek Saryusz-Wolski (EPP-ED, Poland) therefore gave their support to the introduction of a form of sovereignty for the Serbian province, but without going as far as independence.
