Strasbourg, 14/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - It is without any surprise that on 14 December the European Parliament adopted the Belgian recommendation of Mathieu Grosch (EPP-ED) on the Council's common position on the draft directive to introduce a single driving licence on Community territory. The EP followed the line of its transport committee which approved the Council's common position in November, without amending it and adopting only five small technical modifications on committee procedures. Once it is formally adopted by the Council and enters into force, the directive will impose a single European driving licence on Community territory for 2032 at the latest (EUROPE 9313). (dt)
